Could You Save Your Child's Life?
New Training Courses For Parents Nannies Au Pairs And Babysitters...
Mother and Baby Magazine recently questioned 2,000 parents about their ability to save their child's life in the event of an emergency. The results are depressing.
- 80% didn't know how to resuscitate their child.
- 19% had witnessed their child choke and 69% didn't know what to do.
- 92% don't think their nanny, au pair or babysitter would know what to do.
We Can Help
The Medical Chambers Kensington is now offering a range of first aid and resuscitation training courses for parents, nannies, au pairs and babysitters. Courses are held in small groups, a maximum of 8, and despite the subject matter are fun and non-threatening. Very importantly, we allow plenty of time for hands on practice using training dummies and for questions and discussion. Class notes and Certificates of Attendance are issued on completion. There are two courses:
Baby And Child Basic First Aid
This is our basic course and takes 2-3 hours. You will learn how to respond confidently to a child or baby who is unconscious, not breathing or is choking. It includes:
- How to recognise the unwell child
- How to assess the unconscious child
- How to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
- How to place a baby or child in the recovery position
- How to recognise and treat choking
- How and who to call for help in these situations
Illness And Injury In The Home
This course can follow on from, or be delivered separate to, Baby and Child Basic First Aid and also takes between 2-3 hours. You will learn the basic first aid needed for many common illnesses and injuries which occur in the home and will know how to deal with:
