Who is it for?
The Biosynex Covid-19 Rapid Antigen test is only for people without symptoms of Covid-19, who want to ensure that they haven’t got Covid and are not infectious.
This test is highly accurate (over 98%; sensitivity 97.2%; specificity 100%) and detects the coronavirus antigen in asymptomatic people, and those at the very start of illness. It is not for confirmation of Covid-19 in patients with symptoms.
What about travelling abroad?
Some airlines and countries require a PCR swab test and will not accept a rapid test. It is therefore essential that you check your airline requirement and country guidance to choose the right test. We also offer the Abbott PCR Antigen test but please remember that results take 24-72 hours to come back from the laboratory.
Can I have the Rapid Test if I have symptoms?
No. If you have Covid symptoms, you should not come to the clinic. The Rapid test needs to be carried out by a healthcare professional and cannot be used as a home test. If you think you have Covid-19, you can either have a test at an NHS test centre or you can have a PCR swab with us. We will send you a home test kit, which you return to the laboratory for analysis. You should of course also self-isolate. The cost of the PCR swab is £129.
How does the Rapid Antigen Test work?
A simple nasopharyngeal (back of the nose) swab is taken by one of our trained healthcare professionals (Nurse/Healthcare Assistant). It is processed in the clinic and results are available in 15-20min. We will ask you to leave the clinic to minimise contact and maintain distancing and will email your result to you shortly after that.
What is the cost?
The cost of the Rapid Antigen Test is £60 per person.
How do I get my test?
You can email email@example.com or telephone us on 0207 244 4200. We have appointments available Monday to Saturday. If you are a new patient, we will ask you to register online before your visit. We will also ask for your card details so we can process payment without you coming to reception to minimise contact and maintain distancing.
