What to expect when you visit Dr Nicola Clayton
We understand that hair loss can be a distressing condition, and aim to treat every patient with compassion and the highest level of skill and expertise.
Nicola will initially assess your medical and psychological history, spending time discussing any lifestyle and emotional factors which may be contributing to the problem. She will then carry out a clinical examination, including scalp dermoscopy, a non-invasive process using a specialised microscope, to have a detailed look at your scalp and hair.
Pathology tests to determine thyroid function, hormone levels and possible dietary deficiencies may also be necessary. A scalp biopsy may be needed to clarify the diagnosis and inform the most appropriate treatment. Nicola will then work with you to create a detailed treatment plan and discuss the options available to you.
