Specialist support for every step of your fertility journey

Our fertility assessments are for women and men, heterosexual or same sex couples or single people. They provide accurate and detailed information, so that any issues affecting your reproductive health can be identified by our experts as quickly as possible. They are also particularly helpful if you wish to have a clear picture of your long-term reproductive health – even if you’re not yet ready to start a family right now.

Our fertility assessments may be right for you if you:

  • Are struggling to conceive and have been actively trying for a few months
  • Are considering starting a family and want accurate information about your future reproductive choices
  • Want to assess male fertility/sperm quality
  • May not wish to start a family now, but want an informed understanding of your long-term reproductive options
  • Are considering egg freezing
  • Have known fertility issues that you wish to address
  • Are single and are considering using a sperm donor
  • Are in a same-sex relationship and are considering assisted reproduction either now or in the future
  • Wish to have a full understanding of your reproductive health before attempting to conceive

Whatever your circumstances, our fertility specialists are here to help. We offer private male and female fertility assessments in London, providing the clarity and insight you need to plan effectively for the future.

Our comprehensive fertility assessments for women and men are supervised by leading reproductive health specialist Mr Venkatesh Subramanian , Senior Consultant in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery at King’s College Hospital and an expert in the investigation and treatment of infertility.

All tests and investigations are overseen by Mr Subramanian, who will carry out your advanced fertility assessment scan during the same appointment where possible. This means you can discuss your results in full, without long waits between appointments. He will carefully explain any findings and provide personalised advice and guidance on the most appropriate next steps that are right for you.

Our female fertility assessments include:

  • Comprehensive fertility hormone blood tests
  • Detailed pelvic ultrasound scan
  • In-depth consultation with Mr Subramanian
  • Further investigations, including HyCoSy ultrasound, to assess the fallopian tubes, where needed

Mr Subramanian also specialises in advanced ultrasound for conditions such as endometriosis and fibroids, which can affect fertility, as well as in-clinic ovulation induction treatments using clomid or letrozole.

Our male fertility assessments include:

  • Advanced semen analysis to assess sperm quality and quantity
  • Sperm DNA fragmentation testing to identify possible DNA damage to sperm

Male factors contribute to around half of all fertility difficulties – which is why we recommend a male fertility check as an important and informative first step, whatever your circumstances.

All tests are overseen by Mr Subramanian, who will discuss your results in detail and advise on the most appropriate next steps.

We know that trying for a baby can be stressful and involve long waits for test results, scans and appointments. That’s why we try to make our assessments as straightforward and convenient as possible.

A female fertility assessment involves having a full blood test at our clinic to check the full range of female fertility hormones – including your AMH levels , to determine your ovarian reserve. Our fertility consultant, Mr Subramanian is also an expert in gynaecological ultrasound, and will carry out a detailed fertility assessment scan during your consultation. He may also recommend and perform a HyCoSy scan. We offer the most advanced form of this procedure, known as HyFoSy, a specialist fertility scan to assess the fallopian tubes for blockages and evaluate the health of the uterus and ovaries.

For male fertility assessments, we will ask you to provide a sample of your fresh sperm, which you can do at an approved clinic near you, and this will be sent straight away to our specialist lab for analysis.

Once your blood and semen analysis tests have been carried out, and we have carried out a pelvic ultrasound, Mr Subramanian will spend time discussing your results and findings with you, go through your medical history, and explore further options with you to support you on your fertility journey

Why have an in-clinic fertility assessment?

If you’ve been struggling to get pregnant, it may be tempting to leave things to chance or use a home fertility or semen analysis kit. However, undiagnosed conditions affecting fertility often need specialist assessment. For women, issues such as polyps, fibroids, ovarian cysts, or a low ovarian reserve can affect fertility, while male fertility – often overlooked – may be impacted by a low sperm count or genetic factors.

Our consultant-led fertility assessments provide accurate, detailed information that can be fully interpreted by our fertility specialist, giving you the opportunity to ask questions without needing to search online for answers yourself. We can also help identify any issues affecting your reproductive health as quickly as possible and arrange for further specialist investigations or treatment, including options for assisted reproduction.

We provide an advanced fertility hormone profile through our in-clinic blood test. The results go beyond routine evaluations provided by DIY fertility kits, combining expert interpretation with your personal medical history, to give a highly accurate picture of your reproductive health.

Our blood tests include the following:

  • Follicle-Stimulating Hormone Test (FSH): This test measures FSH levels in your blood to assess how your reproductive system is functioning.
  • Luteinizing Hormone Test: Conducted on day 2-5 of the menstrual cycle, this test measures luteinizing hormone levels to assess how your reproductive system is functioning.
  • Estradiol Test (E2): This test measures estradiol levels (a vital hormone for fertility and ovulation) to evaluate if your ovaries are producing the right amount of oestrogen.
  • Anti-Mullerian Hormone Test (AMH): AMH levels help assess your ovarian reserve (the total number and quality of remaining eggs) and can help to determine treatment options for you
  • Day 21 Progesterone Test: Typically done 7 days before your menstrual cycle, this test checks progesterone levels to confirm if you have ovulated.
  • Thyroid Function Test: This test can see if your thyroid levels are within the range which is deemed ‘normal’. Identifying and treating either an overactive or underactive thyroid is important if you’re trying to get pregnant, as either can cause fertility issues, or problems in pregnancy.

A pelvic ultrasound is one of the most important investigations for anyone struggling with conceiving or wanting a clearer understanding of their future fertility. It’s therefore reassuring to know that Mr Subramanian is a specialist in advanced gynaecological ultrasound and highly experienced in diagnosing conditions that can affect fertility, including endometriosis, fibroids and abnormalities of the fallopian tubes. Identifying issues early can help guide us with further investigations or treatment that you may need.

Together with your blood test results, the pelvic scan also allows us to assess your Antral Follicle Count – the number of small follicles within the ovaries. This provides important information about your ovarian reserve, which refers to the estimated number and quality of the remaining eggs in your ovaries and can help give a clearer picture of your reproductive health.

Prior to your appointment you will be asked to give a fresh sperm sample, which our specialist laboratory will analyse. It will be used to measure the quality and quantity of sperm, which can impact your chances of conceiving.

We carry out the following:

  • Semen analysis: This test measures the number of sperm, their movement/motility, and their shape/morphology.
  • Sperm DNA fragmentation test: This non-invasive procedure is performed on a semen sample and can identify DNA damage in sperm. Recommended treatment includes lifestyle changes, surgery, or assisted conception treatments such as IUI, IVF or ICSI.

A detailed semen analysis can reveal important information about sperm health, which is vital for fertility. Many of us don’t realise it, but male factors are involved in up to 40% of infertility cases.

If your results identify any areas of concern, we will discuss the steps that may help improve sperm count, quality and motility. We have extensive experience in managing male fertility and can create a personalised, evidence-based plan to help maximise your chances of a successful pregnancy.

It can be empowering to have as much information as possible about your reproductive health whether you are currently trying to start a family or planning for the future. A clearer understanding of your fertility can help you feel more informed and confident when making decisions about your next steps.

We would particularly recommend a fertility check if you and your partner have been trying to conceive for several months, if you have known fertility concerns, are over the age of 35, or would simply like a more accurate understanding of your fertility. You may also wish to have a male fertility assessment before trying for a baby, to identify any potential issues early on.

For many people, a fertility assessment provides reassurance and no further action is needed. For others, it may identify issues that can be investigated or treated with specialist support, ranging from monitoring ovulation or treating fibroids and cysts, to fertility treatment such as IVF.

We can also provide fertility treatment and advice even if you are not experiencing difficulties conceiving. Some people choose to explore their fertility options earlier, for example if they are considering egg freezing or planning ahead for the future.

Mr Subramanian can guide you through all aspects of reproductive health and fertility care, depending on your individual circumstances. This may include evidence-based lifestyle, diet and exercise plans, in-clinic treatments such as ovulation induction, further investigations such as a HyCoSy scan, and guidance on fertility treatment options including IUI, IVF or ICSI.

We offer a range of fertility packages to suit different needs, supervised by leading fertility specialist Mr Venkatesh Subramanian. Our packages start at £375 for a male fertility check and £510 for a basic female fertility check, including a consultation, ultrasound scan and laboratory analysis. What our patients say about us

I am so glad I found Miss Adib. For the first time, I truly felt heard and finally received clear answers. Her extensive experience has helped me enormously. After steroids failed to help, her PRP treatment has significantly improved my condition.

The whole experience I had of my visit to The Medical Chambers was of the highest quality. Indeed the service in advance of my visit was highly efficient and the same can be said of the service I received at The Chambers. I have known Dr Weatherall for a number of years and in my opinion as a Neurologist specialising in migraine and chronic headache I think he is without parallel.

The appointment with Dr. Weatherall was more informative than any other headache specialist visit we’ve had. He conducted a thorough assessment of my daughter and clearly explained his recommended next steps. He gave us confidence in her current treatment and also suggested additional options, such as a specific neuromodulation device. Although I’ve done extensive reading and much of the information wasn’t entirely new to us, it was extremely helpful to hear his professional evaluation of specific treatments based on his experience and expertise. I am very glad we saw Dr. Weatherall and would wholeheartedly recommend him.
