Profile

Dr Farah Ahmed is a GP with over 20 years’ clinical experience and specialist expertise in women’s health and the menopause.  She is a member of the Luminosa London team at The Medical Chambers Kensington where she works in close collaboration with Consultant Gynaecologist Ms Tania Adib, who leads the team.  Farah also delivers the innovative and advanced treatments now available in women's healthcare including Mona Lisa Touch medical laser and BTL radiofrequency treatments for vaginal health.

She believes that excellent women’s healthcare begins with understanding each patient’s lifestyle, priorities and goals. She is passionate about providing personalised, evidence-based care that helps women better understand their bodies, navigate hormonal changes with confidence and make informed decisions about their health at every stage of life. She now practises exclusively in women’s health and menopause care within both the NHS and private practice at The Medical Chambers Kensington

Dr Ahmed is one of the few GPs in London delivering dedicated specialist menopause services in the NHS.  She established and now runs an NHS menopause clinic in Hillingdon after successfully campaigning for greater access to specialist menopause care for local women.  She also provides specialist menopause and women's health clinics across Brent and Harrow, giving her extensive experience in managing highly complex as well as straightforward cases.  Her dual NHS and private practices ensure that she is fully informed about current pathways, national guidance, and the latest evidence. She now practises exclusively in women’s health and menopause care in the NHS and privately at The Medical Chambers Kensington.

She specialises in the management of perimenopause and menopause, menstrual and hormonal disorders, and conditions including premenstrual syndrome (PMS), premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) and Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS), the updated term for what was previously known as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). The revised terminology reflects a growing understanding that the condition is far more than an ovarian disorder, encompassing complex hormonal, metabolic and reproductive features. Her approach combines the latest evidence-based treatments with a holistic understanding of each woman’s unique needs and circumstances.

She is known for taking the time to listen carefully to her patients, recognising that symptoms rarely exist in isolation and that effective care requires an understanding of the whole person. Her approach is proactive, preventative and tailored to the individual, helping women navigate hormonal health with clarity and confidence.

Dr Ahmed has extensive experience caring for women from diverse cultural backgrounds and is passionate about ensuring that every patient feels heard, understood and supported. She is particularly interested in improving access to high-quality women’s healthcare and understands the importance of delivering care that is culturally sensitive, respectful and tailored to each woman’s individual circumstances and values.

Alongside her clinical practice, Dr Ahmed is a recognised women’s health educator, writer and speaker. She is committed to making high-quality medical information accessible and empowering women to take control of their health through education. Her work has been featured in Newsweek, HELLO!, Mumsnet, Refinery29, Women’s Health and Vogue. She has also collaborated with Rock My Menopause, a NICE-approved patient resource, to develop culturally competent menopause information for underserved communities.

Dr Ahmed is a respected educator within primary care and has delivered women’s health and menopause training to hundreds of healthcare professionals. She is a regular speaker at women’s health events and has presented for Stylist magazine and appeared as a panellist at Pause Live, one of the UK’s leading menopause and midlife events.
