Profile
Dr Rebecca Scott is a Consultant in Diabetes, Endocrinology and Obstetric Medicine, with a particular interest in managing diabetes and endocrine disorders in pregnancy. She believes that it is important to look after patients holistically, and work with each person to find a personalised treatment plan.
She offers a comprehensive service for general endocrine & diabetes conditions, including:
- Diabetes (type 1, type 2, gestational diabetes, CF-related diabetes)
- Thyroid disease
- Reproductive endocrinology including PCOS, premature ovarian insufficiency
- Pituitary disease including hyperprolactinaemia
- Disorders of calcium metabolism
She also reviews women for counselling around medical conditions pre-conception and prior to fertility treatment, as well as for medical conditions in pregnancy.
She is a Consultant at Chelsea & Westminster NHS Foundation Trust and Honorary Consultant at the Royal Brompton Hospital.
Dr Scott has a PhD in the role of gut hormones in the management of obesity, and remains actively involved in research into diabetes and endocrine conditions in pregnancy. She has set up the Obstetric Medicine teaching course at Imperial College. She has co-authored a number of peer-reviewed papers as well as several book chapters, including the book ‘Case Histories in Obstetric Medicine’ (Oxford University Press) and the chapter ‘Endocrine Disorders in Pregnancy’ (Oxford Handbook of Endocrinology and Diabetes).
