Ms Aphrodite Iacovidou is a highly accomplished Consultant ENT (Ear Nose and Throat) Surgeon practising at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust Charing Cross Hospital, one of London’s world famous teaching hospitals, and privately at The Medical Chambers Kensington. She has previously practised at several renowned London teaching hospitals, including University College London Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Ms Iacovidou’s expertise is varied and she is highly skilled in both general and specialised ENT.
Her special expertise is in breathing disorders, snoring problems, tonsillitis, tonsil and adenoid infections, larynx (voice box) and airway disorders, with a particular focus on laryngeal pathology, airway issues, narrowing of the airway/subglottic stenosis, voice/vocal cord disorders, and laryngotracheal reconstruction.
Ms Iacovidou graduated in medicine from the University of Birmingham and then obtained an MSc with merit in Surgical Technology from Imperial College London. She followed this with a Diploma in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. She has won several prestigious awards and grants including the Rowena Ryan Best Trainee Led Training Project Award for innovative work on the Imperial Tonsillectomy Simulator and the Helen H Lawson Grant from the BMA Foundation for Medical Research, which funded her research into thyroid disease diagnosis.
She regularly lectures at national and international conferences and contributes to numerous renowned medical journals.
